Men's Shoes

    Filter

Men's shoes in deerskin, Crazy Horse and waxed suede, divided by family: sneakers, loafers and boots. The American spirit comes from Red Wing Shoes, founded in 1905, with its work boots, and from Sebago, founded in 1946; alongside them are Paraboot, D.A.T.E., Premiata, Puraai, Marotta and the other brands in the selection.

We choose them for the Formia store by looking first at the leather and the sole, then the shape. We don't carry formal dress shoes: it is a selection for everyday use, in town and beyond, with models that are worn with denim, with chinos and with an informal jacket.

      Men's shoes: features and types

The collection is divided into families of different weights. Sneakers make up the largest family, followed closely by loafers and low leather shoes, with boots completing the selection. The same brand can feature across multiple families: Sebago, for instance, offers both loafers and boots. The collection also includes Puraai, Astorflex, Sperry, and Pro-Keds.

      Sneakers

The largest family, led primarily by D.A.T.E., founded in 2005, Premiata, and Lemargo. A smooth leather sneaker pairs with chinos and wool trousers in casual contexts; suede remains sportier, pairing naturally with denim, sweatshirts, and heavy knitwear.

      Loafers and low leather shoes

Here, leather craftsmanship is most evident. Sebago brings the loafersAcadia, crafted in black waxed leather, dark brown, and waxed suede, alongside theAskookfieldin Crazy Horse: an oiled leather that lightens at flex points and develops a rich patina with wear. Paraboot, founded in 1908, features theMichael, in deerskin as well as Lis and Gringo leathers, and theChambord Tex. Marotta loafers round out the selection.

      Boots

Red Wing Shoes delivers the classic American work boot. Sebago complements this with leather models such asSawyer e Dobby Lugin dark brown andWalkerin brown cognac. Among men's winter footwear, boots offer maximum protection: covering the ankle and accommodating heavy socks.

What you'll find in this collection

For the current autumn-winter season, the selection follows seasonal releases. Paraboot, Premiata, Astorflex, Lemargo, and Sperry arrive for this season; new arrivals include D.A.T.E. sneakers and Sebago styles.

Three examples set the tone. TheParaboot Michael in deer leather, in brown or black: deer leather features a pronounced grain and soft hand, more casual than smooth leather, pairing effortlessly with denim and knitwear. The Michael is a Paraboot carryover style, not a single-season model. Next is theSebago Askookfieldloafer in Crazy Horse leather, available in brown tan and dark brown. Finally, theSebago Sawyerboot in dark brown, meant to be worn with denim and heavy trousers.

      How to choose

      By use

The primary criterion we suggest in-store is intended use. For the office and casual jackets, low shoes or loafers in smooth leather, black or dark brown, are essential. For city wear and weekends, leather or suede sneakers and oiled leather loafers fit the bill. For the countryside, rain, and long walks, boots are the ideal choice.

By season: winter shoes and mid-season

In winter, leather type and shaft height matter most. Leathers treated with waxes and oils, such as the Waxy leather of theAcadiaor the Crazy Horse leather of theAskookfield, withstand moisture and light rain better than untreated suede; waxed suede falls right in between. Boots add essential ankle protection. During mid-season, leather loafers and sneakers remain the most versatile choices.

      By leather type and fit

Smooth leather polishes up and can be worn with a jacket. Deer leather and Crazy Horse take on marks and patina, making them better suited to denim and heavy wool. A leather shoe stretches slightly during the first few weeks: it should fit snug across the instep, not loose. For a high instep, lace-up shoes or boots offer better adjustability than loafers. Try on boots with the socks you plan to wear in winter.

How do you care for Crazy Horse leather and waxed suede?

Brush Crazy Horse leather, wipe it clean with a dry cloth, and nourish it with grease or neutral cream when dry; light scratches diminish when rubbed with your fingers. Dry-brush waxed suede with a suede brush, and if wet, allow it to dry away from heat sources. For maintenance, visit the Shoe Care section in-store.
